What is a Pharmacy Neon Sign?

A pharmacy neon sign is a type of signage exclusively used by pharmacies, designed for advertising and marketing purposes just like all other signs. The fact that only pharmacies can use them is not a preference but a legal requirement. Regulations concerning pharmacy signs have specifically determined under what conditions these signs can be hung and what features they must have. Pharmacies that fail to meet these conditions, or businesses that are not pharmacies but display pharmacy signs, are subject to penalties. When it comes to signs used by pharmacies, two types come to mind. The first is signage that displays the pharmacy name on a background, identical to ordinary signs. The second type contains only the letter "E" (the universal pharmacy symbol) and is an illuminated or non-illuminated sign that allows the pharmacy to be visible from the side. Both types of signs are prepared according to specific rules set exclusively for pharmacies. So, what are these rules? Let's take a look!

Pharmacy Sign Regulations

In order to standardize pharmacies and make them easier to identify, the regulation that came into effect in 2014 regarding pharmacy signs mandated that the dominant colors on pharmacy signs must be white and red. Additionally, the materials from which the signs are to be manufactured have been specified. Pharmacy signs, which can be produced in both illuminated and non-illuminated versions, must be lit with LEDs if the illuminated option is chosen. It is prohibited to illuminate the pharmacy name section, which is made from red plexiglass vacuum-formed letters. However, lighting is permitted in other sections. Pharmacy sign dimensions range from 400×70 to 1000×70. However, the height must always be 70.

Pharmacy Neon Sign Prices

Although there are specific criteria for signs prepared for pharmacies, the illuminated and non-illuminated options beyond these criteria can cause variation in pharmacy sign prices. In addition, the dimensions of the signs to be prepared for pharmacies are also quite important. Indeed, it is obvious that signs whose length can be extended up to 900 cm and which use special plexiglass will be more costly. Considering that the quality of workmanship and durability during sign preparation will also affect costs, you should make the right choice for your pharmacy through thorough research. After all, a low-quality pharmacy sign can cause you to throw your money away.
